As an operating system the Skorpio X5 uses Android from version 10. It has comprehensive functions and a simple user interface that is used intuitively. The advantage here is that the training time of new employees is noticeably reduced and productivity is thereby increased. Datalogic places great importance on a full range of equipment when designing its devices. That's why the Skorpio X5 uses the latest technologies and extremely powerful hardware. Its remarkably large 4.3" display with Wide Video Graphics Adapter (WVGA) ensures high readability for applications full of functions and various lighting conditions. Read it easily both indoors and outdoors at all times. The mobile computer is operated via the keyboard below the display. Three different keyboard layouts are available: numeric with 28 keys, functional with 38 keys or alphanumeric with 47 keys. Plus, the Skorpio X5 offers numerous scan key options: two on the side, one in the middle, one in the trigger (pistol grip version) or one at the bottom (hand grip version). For more power at work, power is provided by a standard 3,500 mAh battery or an enhanced 6,200 mAh high-performance battery. Both feature hot-swap technology and use Datalogic's intelligent battery management. In combination, this ensures that the mobile computer is ready for use 24/7 without interruption. Two device options are also available for charging: a fully contactless device with advanced 15-watt wireless charging or a pogo pin connector that provides an additional Ethernet connection inside the Skorpio X5 cradle. The Skorpio X5 also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 octa-core processor with 2.2 GHz. This delivers high-end computing power to meet the demanding requirements of various work environments. The large memory is optionally made up of 3 GB and 32 GB or 4 GB and 64 GB. Also, three different scan engines are available to capture 1D and 2D barcodes: a linear imager, a standard 2D imager and a mid-range imager. All three feature Datalogic's patented »Green Spot«. The WLAN 802.11ac and 802.11r/mc with MIMO interfaces ensure a reliable connection and high connectivity. They greatly reduce downtimes and thereby save a lot of time. Further interfaces are Blue tooth 5.0 and Near Field Communication (NFC). As a fully robust mobile computer, the Skorpio X5 is able to withstand a wide range of external influences, significantly reducing repair and maintenance costs. This includes repeated resistance to falls from heights of up to 1.8 m. For example, if a retail user stands on a so-called elephant foot or two-step ladder and drops the device, it will survive without damage. Plus, the drop resistance can be further increased by an optional protective cover. In addition, the Skorpio X5's robust housing has been classified with IP65 certification. As a result, no dust gets inside the device and even water jets from a nozzle simply bounce off the surface. The display glass and scan window are also very durable: Datalogic has equipped them with scratch- and shatter-proof Corning Gorilla Glass. The Skorpio X5 is part of the »Android Enterprise Recommended« program for robust mobile computers and offers the possibility to purchase the software »Datalogic Shield« via a service contract. Additionally, the Skorpio X5 receives regular security updates, more firmware, at least two full system updates and one year of support beyond the life cycle of the device. |
